Faridabad: A chilling incident has shocked residents of Faridabad district, Haryana, where a family of three—a husband, wife, and their five-year-old son—were found dead under mysterious circumstances after having eaten halwa the previous night.
The tragic incident occurred in Saroo Pur village, under the Mujesar police station jurisdiction. The family, living in a rented house, was discovered lying lifeless in their home. Police reached the spot after receiving a report and took the bodies into custody for post-mortem. No suspicious items were found in the room. Initial observations suggest the possibility of poisoning, as foam was seen around the mouths of the deceased. The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report.
Family Background and Events Leading to Death
The victims were identified as Rajesh, his younger brother Ramesh, Ramesh’s wife Mamta, and their son Chotu. Originally from Niyajipur village, Buxar district, Bihar, the family had been residing in the rented house on Gali No. 9, Sarurpur, for about two months. Rajesh and Ramesh worked as laborers.
On the night before the tragedy, the family had dinner and then eaten halwa together before sleeping on the floor of the rented room. Around 5 AM, Rajesh woke up to take medicine for an old leg injury and attempted to wake Ramesh, who did not respond. Rajesh took his medicine and went back to sleep. By noon, when the family still had not shown any movement, Rajesh contacted the landlord.
Discovery and Police Response
The landlord, Parshuram, who lives on the upper floor and runs a tea stall about a kilometer away, immediately alerted police upon seeing no signs of life. The Mujesar police arrived at the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
Parshuram reported that Ramesh’s nose was bleeding, while foam was seen around the mouth and nose of Mamta and Chotu. The sudden and mysterious nature of the deaths has left neighbors and authorities stunned.
This tragic incident has raised serious concerns about possible food poisoning or accidental ingestion of toxic substances, and authorities are investigating all leads to determine the exact cause.
