Ludhiana/Fatehgarh Sahib:
A wave of panic swept through Punjab on Wednesday morning after bomb threats were sent via email to the court complexes in Ludhiana and Fatehgarh Sahib. Acting swiftly, security agencies evacuated both premises and launched an extensive search operation to rule out any potential danger.
According to officials, the threat was received on the official email ID of the judicial wing, warning of explosives planted inside the court complexes. The message immediately set off emergency protocols, prompting district administrations to heighten security and suspend public entry into the premises.
Police teams, bomb disposal squads, and intelligence agencies rushed to the sites and conducted thorough searches of all key areas. Lawyers, court staff, litigants, and visitors were safely evacuated as a precautionary measure. Entry into the court premises was temporarily sealed to ensure an uninterrupted investigation.
As of the latest update, no suspicious or explosive material has been found. However, authorities continue to remain on high alert while the search and verification process is ongoing.
Cyber crime units have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the threatening email, including tracking the IP address and other digital footprints. Officials stated that all possible angles are being examined to identify the sender.
Notably, Punjab has witnessed a rise in similar bomb threat incidents targeting courts, government offices, and public places over the past few months. While most of these threats later turned out to be hoaxes, security agencies are treating every alert with utmost seriousness to prevent any untoward incident.
Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
