Beating Retreat Ceremony Today: Traffic Diversions and Metro Advisory in Delhi

New Delhi will host the annual Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk today. As part of special traffic arrangements for the event and for visitors coming to see the illuminated Rashtrapati Bhavan, North and South Blocks, and Parliament House, several key roads will be completely closed from 2:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Commuters are advised to use alternative routes, and DTC bus services will also be rerouted.

Traffic Diversions
Traffic will be blocked on Vijay Chowk, Rafee Marg, Raisina Road, Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg, Sunheri Masjid stretch, and Kartavyapath between C-Hexagon from 2:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The Traffic Police have suggested alternate routes including Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aravindo Marg, Madarsa T-Point, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, and Minto Road. Parking will be available behind the water channels near Vijay Chowk for visitors after 7:00 PM.

Bus Route Adjustments
DTC and other city buses heading towards Central Secretariat and Connaught Place will be rerouted via Panchsheel Marg, Simon Bolivar Marg, Vande Mataram Marg, R.A. Shankar Road, and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Road. Buses from South Delhi going to Tughlaq Road and Connaught Place will be diverted via Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, and Panchsheel Marg. Buses from Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, and ISBT Kashmiri Gate will use Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan, Ridge Road, and Rani Jhansi Road.

Metro Advisory
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that four gates at Indu Bhavan and Central Secretariat stations on the Yellow Line facing Rafee Marg will remain closed from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Commuters planning to visit the Vijay Chowk area via metro are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
