Historical Significance
The temple’s origins trace back to the Mahabharata era. It is believed that the Pandavas established the temple on Lord Krishna’s instructions to secure victory over the Kauravas. The idol is Swayambhu (self-manifested) and is considered Jagrat (awake). The temple was renovated in 1816 and features a 36-foot-high deepmalika (lamp tower) and a Sabha Mandap supported by sixteen pillars. Surrounding the temple are ancient samadhis of saints and sages. As a Tantric deity, Maa Baglamukhi holds special significance for tantric rituals, attracting devotees seeking spiritual power and blessings.
