
Patna: A police team in Bihar’s capital Patna came under attack while attempting to apprehend liquor smugglers, resulting in one officer being injured and a police jeep badly damaged. The incident took place in the Yarpur slum area under the Gardanibagh police station jurisdiction.
According to local reports, the police team had received information about illegal liquor trading late at night. When they reached the site around 10 PM, they found two men, including Prabhat Manjhi, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, and immediately took them into custody.
Mob Attacks Police During Arrest
As the police were transporting the arrested individuals, locals joined forces with the accused, attacking the officers with bricks and stones. During the stone-pelting, one policeman sustained injuries while the police jeep was heavily damaged.
Additional Forces Called, Overnight Search Launched
Upon receiving the report, the police station sent additional forces to the scene. The arrested suspects were taken to the station, and the injured officer was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Following the incident, the police conducted late-night raids in the Yarpur slum to identify and apprehend those involved in the attack.

Gardanibagh SHO Pramod Kumar confirmed the sequence of events, emphasizing that the team was acting on credible information regarding illegal liquor trading and that the attackers attempted to thwart law enforcement efforts.
