Patna: The political atmosphere in Bihar is buzzing after the NDA secured a resounding victory in the state assembly elections, ensuring continued governance under the alliance. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to take oath on 20 November at Gandhi Maidan, Patna.
Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, a heartfelt moment has captured public attention. Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, congratulated his father on the NDA’s overwhelming win, embracing him in a touching gesture that brought a smile to the Chief Minister’s face. The photograph, showing father and son dressed in coordinated attire, has gone viral on social media. Nitish Kumar wore a white kurta-pajama paired with a blue half-jacket, while Nishant matched in a white kurta-pajama with a blue high-neck sweater.
Earlier, Nishant had publicly expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar for the NDA’s victory, calling it a win entirely by the people. “I thank the people of Bihar for giving NDA such a decisive mandate. The results exceeded our expectations, rewarding my father’s 20 years of work. I am confident he will uphold this trust and continue the development process,” he said.
NDA Secures Strong Majority in Bihar
Out of 243 assembly seats, the NDA won 202 seats, achieving a comfortable majority. The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, while the JDU won 85 seats. Other NDA allies secured seats as follows: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) – 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) – 5, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) – 4.
The victory reinforces NDA’s stronghold in Bihar, and Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in is expected to set the stage for continued political and developmental initiatives in the state.
