Rahul Gandhi: “Daughters Are Our Pride, Precious, Sensitive, and Empowered” on National Girl Child Day

New Delhi: On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share a photograph along with a message emphasizing the importance of daughters. He described daughters as “our pride” and stressed the collective responsibility of ensuring a bright and secure future for them, calling for half of the population to be granted their full rights.

In his post, Rahul Gandhi wrote:
“Daughters are our pride – precious, sensitive, and empowered. With dreams of tomorrow in their eyes and the courage to shape the present, they move forward. It is our responsibility to ensure a bright and safe future for them – to give half of the population their full rights.”

Amit Shah: Daughters Are Our Strength

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his wishes on National Girl Child Day, highlighting that daughters are not only our responsibility but also our strength. Sharing his message on X, he said:
“National Girl Child Day is a symbol that girls are not just our responsibility but a true source of strength. Exemplary figures like Rani Lakshmibai, Rani Velu Nachiyar, Moola Gabru, and Preetilata Waddedar fill every Indian heart with pride and inspiration.”

Background of National Girl Child Day

Instituted in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, National Girl Child Day aims to raise awareness about gender discrimination, promote equal opportunities, and create an environment where girls can grow into empowered citizens. The day underscores the crucial role of girls in building a bright, equitable, and just future for the nation, aligning with India’s vision of a developed nation by 2047 under women-led development initiatives.
