
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a high-level visit aimed at strengthening strategic ties amidst rapidly changing geopolitical dynamics in West Asia. During his visit, Doval held a cordial meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, who serves as Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Cabinet Member, and National Security Advisor.
Discussions Focused on Bilateral and Regional Cooperation
According to a post by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh on social media platform X, the meeting included comprehensive discussions on bilateral cooperation, regional security challenges, and other matters of mutual interest. The embassy described the interaction as a “productive meeting between the two national security advisors,” emphasizing collaboration on issues of strategic significance.
Strategic Ties Between India and Saudi Arabia
Doval’s visit, which began on Tuesday, underscores the growing strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia. Upon arrival at the airport, he was welcomed by Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan and Saudi Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati.
The visit comes shortly after Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and the Red Fort. During the third meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Security Working Group under the Strategic Partnership Council’s Political, Counsellor, and Security Cooperation Committee, both sides jointly denounced all forms and expressions of terrorism, reaffirming their commitment to counter-terrorism cooperation.
