Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, known for his debut in Gully Boy, is currently in the spotlight for his upcoming film Do Deewane Shehar Mein, a modern-day love story set to release on 20 February 2026. In an exclusive conversation with Navbharat Times, Siddhant shared candid insights about his first love, first kiss, heartbreaks, and the family pressure to get married.
From Small-Town Dreams to Bollywood Stardom
Born in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, Siddhant Chaturvedi has inspired countless young dreamers from smaller towns. Known for his unique style and versatility in roles, he has earned widespread appreciation for films like Gehraiyaan, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and Dhadak 2. His upcoming film, Do Deewane Shehar Mein, tells a fresh, desi love story for a new generation.
First Love: Innocence and Infatuation
Siddhant reminisced about his childhood crush:
“I was in fourth grade when a girl transferred from Delhi and sat next to me. She was incredibly beautiful, and I instantly became infatuated. She stayed only for a year but promised she’d come back. She never did, leaving my first childhood love story incomplete.”
He reflected on learning to let go:
“Many relationships teach us lessons. Letting go doesn’t mean losing; people and situations change. You learn to accept it. The rare person who can fight for you and stand unwaveringly—that’s what I saw in my parents. I haven’t found that in anyone else yet.”
Heartbreak and Rejection
On heartbreak, Siddhant said:
*”Even when you plan your future around a relationship, things can break, and it’s tough to recover. I realized, like in the movie *Life of Pi, that sometimes letting go is life itself.”
He also shared his experience with rejection:
“I’ve faced rejection from childhood, from proposing in classrooms to experiences after becoming an actor. My approach to love isn’t frontal—I fear being rejected. Now, when someone approaches me genuinely, without caring for my fame, it feels different. I want a partner for whom my stardom doesn’t matter.”
The First Kiss
Siddhant recalled his first kiss at 19 with a mix of shyness and nostalgia:
“We were in an auto during light rain. It was her birthday, and I had to drop her home. She fell asleep on my shoulder. The rain and the potholes of Mumbai made it feel like a scene straight out of a movie. Our first kiss happened a year into dating. I still remember it vividly. Once, even the traffic police caught us, and I had to bribe them for the first time to handle the situation!”
Family Pressure to Marry
Siddhant revealed that he also faces pressure at home:
“My mother keeps telling me to get married while my father is at work, I am on shoots, and my brother is in college. I’ve asked her to wait 6–8 years, but I understand her perspective. She worries about who will take care of me after they’re gone. So I told her to stay fit and enjoy life—I’ll handle everything responsibly.”
Ideal Life Partner
When asked about his ideal partner, Siddhant said:
“I want someone with whom I can laugh and cry. Life has many challenges, and having a companion makes it easier. I want a partner to share joy and sorrow, to cherish simple moments like fixing her hair while she sleeps.”
He added:
“Recently, I sent my parents on a trip to Kathmandu to celebrate their anniversary. Listening to my mother recall wedding memories made me realize that the greatest wealth is family. I want the companionship in my life that my parents share.”
