Box Office Update: ‘Border 2’ Crosses ₹290 Crore on 13th Day, ‘Mardaani 3’ Struggles to Recover Costs in First Week

The war drama Border 2, based on the India-Pakistan conflict of 1971, continues to dominate the box office, breaking multiple records despite a slower 13th day collection. Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3, released just six days ago, faces an uphill battle to recover its production costs.

‘Border 2’: A Triple-Front War Story
Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, Border 2 depicts India’s army, navy, and air force facing a three-front attack from Pakistan. The film highlights key operations such as ‘Operation Changez Khan’ and the navy’s ‘Operation Trident,’ portraying the courage and sacrifices of Indian soldiers. Unlike the first Border film, which focused on a single front, this sequel showcases battles across land, air, and sea.

The narrative follows three friends—Flying Officer Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon (Diljit Dosanjh), Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya (Varun Dhawan), and Lieutenant Commander Mahendra S. Rawat (Ahan Shetty)—under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler (Sunny Deol), balancing intense war sequences with glimpses of their personal lives.
