Box Office Roundup: Dhurandhar Still Shines 66 Days Later, Vadh 2 Impresses, Bhabiji Struggles

The Indian box office witnessed an interesting weekend as new releases and long-running hits battled for audience attention. While Border 2’s collections have slowed after 17 days and Mardaani 3 continues a slow climb, the newly released crime thriller Vadh 2 made a strong impression on its opening weekend. Yet the most surprising story comes from Dhurandhar, which continues to draw audiences in theaters even after its OTT release, 66 days post-release.

Vadh 2’s Strong Weekend

Released on 6 February 2026, Vadh 2, starring Nina Gupta and Sanjay Mishra and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, has captured attention with its content-driven narrative. Competing against films like Border 2, Mardaani 3, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, the sequel earned ₹50 lakh on opening day, followed by ₹1 crore each on Saturday and Sunday, totaling ₹2.50 crore for its first weekend.

Despite limited screens, the film benefited from strong word-of-mouth publicity. The original Vadh (2022) had modest box office returns but performed well on OTT. The sequel’s budget is reportedly ₹25 crore, raising questions about whether theatrical earnings alone will cover costs.

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain Fails to Impress

Adapted from the popular TV series, Shashank Bali’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain disappointed at the box office, earning only ₹87 lakh in its opening weekend:

  • Friday: ₹20 lakh
  • Saturday: ₹35 lakh
  • Sunday: ₹32 lakh

Dhurandhar Defies Expectations

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar continues to perform in theaters despite its OTT release. Even with limited shows, the Ranveer Singh–Akshay Khanna starrer earned ₹17 lakh on its 66th day. The film’s cumulative collections now stand at ₹837.97 crore net in India and ₹1,304.45 crore gross worldwide. Weekly breakdown of net collections:

  • Week 1: ₹207.25 crore
  • Week 2: ₹253.25 crore
  • Week 3: ₹172.00 crore
  • Week 4: ₹106.50 crore
  • Week 5: ₹51.25 crore
  • Week 6: ₹26.35 crore
  • Week 7: ₹13.90 crore
  • Week 8: ₹5.35 crore
  • Week 9: ₹1.75 crore
  • Day 64: ₹5 lakh
  • Day 65: ₹15 lakh
  • Day 66: ₹17 lakh

The film has already become an all-time blockbuster, collecting over ₹1,005 crore gross in India alone, a feat unmatched by any Hindi-language release.

Looking Ahead: Dhurandhar 2

Fans are now eagerly awaiting the sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, set for release on 19 March 2026 during Eid and Gudi Padwa. The sequel will release as a Pan-India film in five languages, and its box office showdown is expected to be with Yash’s upcoming film Toxic.
