Maharashtra to Use AI to Identify Illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya Immigrants
Mumbai, Maharashtra: The Maharashtra government is preparing to deploy an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool to identify illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants in the state. The tool is being developed in collaboration with IIT Bombay and is expected to play a major role in tackling illegal migration.
Currently, the tool has an accuracy of 60 percent, meaning it correctly identifies 60 out of 100 individuals. Authorities expect its accuracy to reach 100 percent within the next four months, enabling near-complete identification of illegal immigrants.
