Hapur Chungi to Dasna Road to Become Signal-Free, Relief for Ghaziabad Commuters
Ghaziabad, UP: In a major move to ease traffic congestion, authorities in Ghaziabad are planning to make the busy Hapur Chungi–Dasna route completely signal-free. The initiative aims to reduce traffic snarls on one of the city’s most heavily used corridors, benefiting daily commuters and emergency services alike.
The route, connecting the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and NH-9, often witnesses long delays due to multiple traffic signals. Vehicles can be stuck for 10–15 minutes at peak hours at key intersections, including Hapur Chungi, Govindpuram, and Kavi Nagar. To resolve this, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) will conduct a survey next week to identify locations where traffic signals can be removed and “smart” U-turns constructed.
