Tomato Prices Surge in Delhi; NCCF Offers Relief at ₹52/kg
New Delhi: With tomato prices soaring across Delhi and other parts of India, the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) has launched a subsidized sale of tomatoes in several areas of the capital starting Tuesday, providing relief to consumers. Under the initiative, ‘Janah’ brand tomatoes are available at ₹52 per kilogram, significantly lower than the retail market rates of ₹60–80/kg caused by disrupted supply due to recent rains.
In addition to tomatoes, onions are being sold at ₹15 per kilogram under the Government of India’s Market Intervention Scheme, ensuring the availability of essential food items at affordable rates.
