India International Trade Fair Kicks Off in Delhi; Foreign High-Tech Stalls Missing on Day One
New Delhi: The 44th India International Trade Fair commenced on Friday in Delhi, featuring participation from companies across 12 countries. However, the event’s foreign pavilions surprised visitors as no high-tech or machinery-based exhibits were on display on the first day. Instead, the stalls largely showcased salwar suits, cosmetics, home décor, stone rings, dry fruits, sweets, chocolates, and kitchenware.
Hong Kong’s Homeware PresenceDespite extensive promotion by ITPO regarding China’s participation, only a single Hong Kong company, Onyx, was present. Onyx is selling large stone planters, jars, plates, and bowls, with supplies sourced from Afghanistan. Director Md. Shaukat Ali confirmed that no representatives from China or Hong Kong attended the fair.
