Shani Pradosh Vrat 2026: First Saturday Pradosh Vrat of the Year to Bless Devotees with Lord Shiva and Shani Dev’s Grace

The first Shani Pradosh Vrat of 2026 is set to occur this year on Saturday, 14th February, during the Krishna Paksha of Falgun month. This Pradosh Vrat holds special significance in Hindu tradition, as observing it on a Saturday allows devotees to receive blessings not only from Lord Shiva but also from Shani Dev.

Date and Timings

  • Pradosh Vrat Date: 14th February 2026 (Saturday)
  • Pradosh Kaal: 5:25 PM – 6:55 PM IST
    Pradosh Kaal generally spans 45 minutes before and after sunset, and performing the evening worship during this period is considered most auspicious.

Morning Rituals

  • Wake up early, take a bath, and wear clean clothes.
  • Take the Vrat Sankalp (vow) and prepare your home or pooja area.
  • Place a small wooden platform with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s idols or pictures.
  • Sprinkle Ganga water around and perform Abhishek using curd, milk, honey, and Ganga water.
  • Offer Bel leaves, flowers, sandalwood, Naivedya, incense, and lamps to Lord Shiva, and adorn Goddess Parvati.
  • Conduct rituals for Lord Ganesha as well, seeking the removal of obstacles.

Evening Pradosh Kaal Worship

  • Wear white garments during sunset and perform Shiva Puja.
  • Offer fresh flowers and Bel leaves to Shiva, followed by Aarti and Bhajan.
  • Since the Vrat falls on Saturday, worship Shani Dev by offering water to a Peepal tree and reciting Shani Stotra or Shani Chalisa.
  • Chant “Om Namah Shivaya” or Mahamrityunjaya Mantra to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva and Shani Dev.

Observing the Shani Pradosh Vrat on this day is believed to bring prosperity, protection from misfortune, and fulfillment of wishes. Devotees are advised to follow the rituals with devotion and sincerity to receive maximum spiritual benefits.
