Trump Deserves a Nobel… Former Pentagon Official Stunned by Putin’s Grand Welcome in India, Calls It a Major Loss for the U.S.

Washington: A former U.S. Pentagon official has offered a striking analysis of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to India. According to him, the grand reception extended to Putin in New Delhi should not only be credited to Moscow but also to former U.S. President Donald Trump. The official went so far as to say that Trump deserves a Nobel Prize for his role in strengthening India-Russia ties.

Michael Rubin, speaking to ANI, described Putin’s visit as highly successful from Russia’s perspective. He highlighted the unprecedented scale of respect and honor shown to the Russian president in India and emphasized that Trump played a significant role in bringing the two countries closer.

Trump’s Nobel Worthy Role
Rubin remarked, “The level of honor given to President Putin in India is perhaps unmatched anywhere else in the world. The role of Donald Trump in fostering this relationship should not be ignored. I would even go as far as to say he deserves the Nobel Prize for how he united India and Russia.”

He further questioned how many of the agreements signed during the visit would result in genuine cooperation and how many were influenced by dissatisfaction with Trump’s previous dealings with India. “If you are Donald Trump, you will see it as ‘I told you so,’ confirming his narrative that India is leaning towards Russia,” Rubin said.

A Strategic Loss for the U.S.
Rubin warned that Trump’s approach could have long-term strategic consequences for the United States. He speculated that certain actions might have been influenced by Pakistani, Turkish, or Qatari intermediaries, calling it “a major loss that could affect America for decades.”

Highlighting U.S. Hypocrisy
Rubin also criticized U.S. policy, accusing America of double standards in its dealings with India. “Americans fail to understand that Prime Minister Modi represents India’s interests. India, soon to be the third-largest economy, requires energy security. Yet, when India buys Russian goods, the U.S. lectures them—this is hypocrisy,” he said.

He added that if the U.S. does not want India to buy Russian oil, it should provide an alternative supply at competitive prices. Otherwise, remaining silent may be the best strategy, as India must prioritize its own security and energy needs.
