Terror Attacks Fueled by India-Afghanistan Nexus, Claims Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif After Islamabad Blast Curated

In the wake of the deadly suicide bombing in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again blamed India and Afghanistan for orchestrating terror attacks on Pakistani soil. Addressing the National Assembly on Wednesday, Sharif alleged that “external forces” were responsible for the recent spate of violence, including the twin attacks in South Waziristan’s Wana and the capital Islamabad.

Sharif claimed that both attacks were planned and supported from across the border, stating, “It is no longer a secret that external elements are behind these attacks. The perpetrators sit across the border and work hand in hand.”

India and Afghanistan Under Fire

Sharif accused both Kabul and New Delhi of collaborating to destabilize Pakistan, emphasizing that the improving ties between India and Afghanistan were a matter of concern for Islamabad. The Pakistani PM alleged that one of the terrorists killed in the Waziristan operation was identified as an Afghan national.

Sharif warned that the scale of the planned attack could have been “worse than the Army Public School massacre” had the armed forces not intervened in time. He asserted that Pakistan had concrete evidence of India’s involvement, particularly in Balochistan, citing the abduction of passengers from the Jaffar Express train as an example.

“We have presented proof before the world that groups like TTP and BLA operate from Afghanistan and are in constant contact with their handlers in India. No one has challenged these facts,” Sharif declared before Parliament.

Taliban Urged to Act

Sharif also called on the Afghan Taliban to take decisive action against terrorist organizations operating within Afghanistan, reminding them that Pakistan had hosted millions of Afghan refugees for four decades. “This is how they repay us now,” he said sharply.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, reiterated that the country’s foreign policy adheres to the principles of the UN Charter — including sovereign equality, peaceful resolution of disputes, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations. He added, “We urge our neighboring countries to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of others.”
