Riyadh, January 10, 2026: The Saudi government has announced an important update for Muslims worldwide planning to perform Hajj this year. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched the Direct Hajj Program for 2026, allowing prospective pilgrims to view, compare, and select service packages based on level, content, and price through the official Nusuk Hajj platform.
The program is especially significant for Indian Muslims, as India is among the countries sending a large number of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia annually. Hajj 2026 is expected to take place during the last week of May.
Nusuk Hajj Platform Offers Digital Convenience
According to Arab News, the Nusuk Hajj platform provides several digital benefits, including:
- Comparing different Hajj service packages,
- Making installment payments via digital wallets, and
- Accessing a list of officially approved service providers.
Pilgrims with budget constraints can select packages with basic amenities, ensuring affordability without compromising authenticity.
Registration and Verification Guidelines
The Saudi Ministry has urged pilgrims to register or update their details on the platform and verify personal documents. Families are encouraged to submit applications together to speed up approval and verification.
Preventing Fraud
The ministry emphasized that the Direct Hajj Program applies only to countries included in the initiative. Pilgrims from these countries must use the Nusuk platform for all bookings and payments, as it is the official and approved portal for Hajj services. Pilgrims from other countries will continue to follow local arrangements.
Hajj: A Pillar of Islam
Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, involves several religious rituals and is mandatory once in a lifetime for every able Muslim who can afford it. It is one of the five pillars of Islam, alongside faith in Allah, prayer, zakat (charity), and fasting during Ramadan.
