Israeli PM Netanyahu Postpones India Visit for the Third Time: Did Mossad Receive a Threat Input? Is the Al-Falah Angle Still Alive

Tel Aviv/New Delhi:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to India has been postponed for the third time this year, triggering intense speculation in diplomatic and security circles. According to Israeli media reports, his planned Delhi trip has been deferred following the recent high-intensity bomb blast in the Indian capital — the most severe explosion witnessed there in years.

Security agencies in Israel are said to be treating the incident as a potential threat to the Prime Minister’s visit. The trip is now expected to be rescheduled sometime next year, depending on the outcome of an ongoing security review.

Security Agencies Launch Deep Review: Was Netanyahu a Target?

Israeli news outlets have reported that intelligence agencies have begun examining possible links between the Delhi terror attack and the timing of Netanyahu’s proposed visit.
Some analysts have even raised the question of whether terrorists could have been planning an attack on Israeli leadership on Indian soil.

While no concrete evidence has emerged so far, the security establishment is not willing to take any chances.

According to i24NEWS, Netanyahu will now look for a fresh date next year, subject to Mossad’s final threat assessment. Previously, he was expected to visit India by the end of this year.

This marks the third cancellation of his India visit:

  • Once on 9 September, due to snap elections in Israel
  • Once earlier before the April elections
  • And now, after the Delhi blast

Is the Al-Falah Angle Still Relevant? Did Mossad Detect a New Threat?

Some commentators have linked the sudden cancellation to concerns arising from the Al-Falah University case, suggesting that extremist elements with global affiliations may still pose a risk.
This has led to broader speculation:
Is the Mossad aware of a specific danger?
Are radical groups again targeting Israeli officials in India?

While Israeli authorities have not issued a formal confirmation, the rapid escalation of security alerts has raised eyebrows.

A Blow to Netanyahu’s Domestic Politics

The postponement carries significant implications for Netanyahu’s political standing at home.
After facing widespread criticism internationally over the Gaza conflict, the Israeli PM has been seeking to boost his global image through high-profile foreign visits.

In July, his Likud Party released a poster featuring him alongside world leaders including India’s PM Narendra Modi, former US President Donald Trump, and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin — an attempt to project strong international alliances.

However, the sudden cancellation of the India visit is now being viewed as a political setback, undermining his broader strategy of international outreach.
