Islamabad: Lashkar-e-Taiba founder and UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed has once again issued provocative statements against India, claiming that New Delhi will not dare to launch another attack for the next 50 years. The revelation was made by Saifullah Kasuri, deputy chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the alleged mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack, in a recent video that has surfaced on social media.
In the video, Kasuri quotes Hafiz Saeed as dismissing India’s warnings regarding the continuation of Operation Sindoor 2.0, calling them “empty threats.” According to Kasuri, Saeed asserted that India had already suffered such a “deep wound” six months ago that it would lack the courage to strike Pakistan again for decades.
Closed-Door Meeting Raises Questions
Kasuri claimed that he attended a private gathering around one and a half months ago where Hafiz Saeed was present. During the meeting, a Pakistani participant reportedly asked Saeed about India’s repeated warnings of military retaliation. Saeed allegedly responded by saying:
This statement raises serious questions over Pakistan’s repeated claims that Hafiz Saeed remains imprisoned, as Kasuri’s remarks indicate that the Lashkar chief is freely attending meetings and influencing terror strategy.
Open Defiance Despite Terror Designation
Hafiz Saeed has been designated a global terrorist by the United Nations and is accused of orchestrating multiple attacks against India. Despite this, Kasuri’s video suggests that Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders continue to hold meetings openly in Pakistan and are actively formulating post–Operation Sindoor strategies.
Kasuri also reiterated Lashkar’s hardline stance on Kashmir, declaring that the group would never retreat from its agenda. Addressing a public gathering, he stated:
He went on to make sweeping territorial claims, alleging that regions such as Kashmir, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hyderabad, Deccan, and Bengal were “Muslim-majority areas taken from Pakistan,” and said the matter would be taken to the United Nations.
Renewed Jihadi Rhetoric
Security analysts note that the video aligns with renewed efforts by Pakistan’s military leadership, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir, to reignite jihadist violence in Kashmir with the support of groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The statements have triggered fresh concerns over Pakistan’s counterterrorism commitments and the continued operational freedom enjoyed by extremist leaders despite international sanctions.
