Imran Khan’s Sons to Visit Pakistan in January, Plan to Meet Father in Prison Amid Alleged Harsh Conditions

London/Islamabad: The sons of former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan are preparing to travel to Pakistan in January to meet their father, who is reportedly being held in harsh conditions in prison. Residing in London, Kasim Khan told British news channel Sky News that he and his brother Sulaiman Khan have applied for visas and are planning their visit next month.

The brothers expressed deep concern over their father’s current state in a so-called ‘death cell’, describing the conditions as extremely poor. Kasim mentioned that during an interview with journalist Yalda Hakim, both feared they might never get the chance to meet their father due to bureaucratic or political obstacles.

Efforts to Secure Permission

Kasim confirmed that the brothers are actively pursuing permission from the Pakistani authorities, citing former Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s statement welcoming them to visit and meet Imran Khan. “We are planning our trip for January, hoping the visa will be granted soon,” Kasim said.

Emotional Appeal and Support

During the interview, Kasim emphasized that his father is deeply committed to eradicating corruption in Pakistan, describing it as his life’s mission. “We want him to witness all our cricket or football matches, but his purpose is far bigger. We can only respect that,” Kasim said. Both brothers admitted feeling helpless and frustrated, expressing a strong desire to understand how they could assist their father and ensure his well-being.

Prison Conditions Described as Severe

Kasim and Sulaiman detailed the dire conditions of Imran Khan’s detention. Sulaiman stated that their father is being kept in a death cell with minimal lighting, intermittent electricity, and unsanitary water. Kasim added that the conditions are so poor they violate basic international standards for prisoners.

The brothers also stressed that Imran Khan is not someone who would compromise or negotiate under pressure, reaffirming his unyielding stance against political opponents and systemic corruption.

The planned visit highlights growing concerns about the treatment of high-profile political prisoners in Pakistan and underscores the urgency of ensuring their safety and legal rights.
