Tokyo: Indian passport holders with a Japanese visa can now enjoy easier entry to several countries, making travel across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East more convenient.Traditionally, a Japanese visa allowed Indians to stay in Japan for up to 90 days. However, several countries now recognize the Japanese visa as a mark of credibility, thanks to Japan’s strict screening process for visa applicants. This recognition means Indian travelers can save time, money, and paperwork on multi-country trips.
How Indians Benefit:
Indian travelers holding a valid Japanese visa can visit several Asian countries without needing separate visas. For instance, the Philippines allows visa-free entry for up to 14 days, extendable by an additional seven days. Travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months and proof of onward or return travel.
Singapore also offers a visa-free transit facility. Indians with a Japanese visa valid for at least one month can stay in the city-state for up to 96 hours without a separate visa, a major convenience for multi-city itineraries.
Beyond Asia:
Taiwan allows multiple entries of up to 14 days within a 90-day period for Japanese visa holders using a special travel authorization document. Similarly, Georgia permits Indian travelers with a Japanese visa to stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Montenegro grants 30-day stays, Mexico allows up to 180 days, and the UAE offers visa-on-arrival for Japanese visa holders.
This new development significantly expands travel opportunities for Indian passport holders, making the Japanese visa a valuable tool for global exploration.
