Davos, Switzerland: During the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, U.S. President Donald Trump drew attention with his arrival in a new armored Cadillac Escalade Presidential Limousine. The vehicle is reportedly the latest addition to the Secret Service fleet and a new configuration of the Escalade Limo.
Trump initially flew to Davos aboard the VC-25A Air Force One jet, but an electrical issue forced a return. He subsequently traveled from Zurich to Davos via the VH-60N Marine One helicopter of the U.S. Marine Corps. A motorcade awaited him, including at least two Escalades and several Chevrolet Suburban SUVs.
Heavily Armored for Maximum Security
Photos from Davos show the new Escalade heavily armored, particularly around the windshield and doors. Several antennas are installed on the roof and above the driver’s seat, enabling advanced secure communications linked to the White House’s Roadrunner system.
While few technical details about this version are publicly available, the vehicle appears to share its core platform with previous Escalade and Suburban models, though the exterior features a redesigned front fascia and chrome accents. The Secret Service reportedly customized this generation Escalade for presidential use.
“The Beast” – A Legacy of Presidential Protection
The U.S. Secret Service designs presidential limousines specifically for the safety of the commander-in-chief. Trump’s previous limo, famously known as “The Beast,” weighs 20,000 pounds and was modeled after an extended Cadillac XT6 sedan. Its estimated value was around $1.6–1.58 million.
Built to withstand bomb attacks and gunfire, the limo carries an extensive range of medical supplies, including a refrigerated unit stocked with blood matching the president’s blood type. The latest version of “The Beast” was produced in 2014, with incremental upgrades now appearing in the new Escalade limo. Details remain tightly guarded by the Secret Service.
