Washington/Delhi: A recent study from the U.S. Department of Defense has revealed that China played a significant role in assisting Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. According to the report, while Pakistan executed visible kinetic and proxy operations on the ground, China supported Islamabad through information warfare, cyber activities, intelligence cooperation, and diplomatic maneuvers.
The report emphasizes that China’s involvement, though indirect, was decisive. Chinese support included real-time intelligence from satellite coverage, electronic surveillance inputs, and strategic cyber operations, enhancing Pakistan’s situational awareness and operational effectiveness.
News outlets including CNN and News18, citing U.S. documents, highlighted that Beijing and Islamabad are now reportedly collaborating on a coordinated “grey-zone strategy” against India. This approach applies sustained pressure on multiple fronts—military, informational, cyber, and diplomatic—without escalating into open conflict.
American officials view Operation Sindoor as a critical test of this evolving strategy, wherein Pakistan engaged India directly on the battlefield, while China operated behind the scenes to influence the campaign’s outcome.
This development underscores a shifting regional security paradigm, with China-Pakistan collaboration potentially shaping future strategic dynamics in South Asia.
