ISLAMABAD: Mir Yaar, a prominent Baloch separatist leader and representative of the exiled Baloch government, paid tribute to former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 101st birth anniversary. Known for his staunch opposition to the Pakistani government and military, Mir Yaar frequently honors Indian leaders on social media, highlighting Vajpayee’s enduring legacy.
Tribute from Balochistan
On Thursday, Mir Yaar shared a photograph of Vajpayee, one of the founding members of India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and wrote:
“On 25 December 2025, the people of the Balochistan Republic join millions around the world in commemorating the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He was an extraordinary leader whose life was defined by honesty, dignity, and unwavering commitment to his nation.”
Mir Yaar emphasized Vajpayee’s ability to work with both allies and opponents alike, describing him as a rare figure in public life. He praised Vajpayee not only for his political power but also for his character, humility, and moral strength.
“Vajpayee’s enduring legacy continues to guide generations,” Mir Yaar added, “reminding us that great leaders never truly fade. His values live on in the hope of a future shaped by wisdom, integrity, and courage.”
Vajpayee’s Political Journey
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was one of India’s most respected political leaders, with nearly five decades of active service in politics. He was elected to the Lok Sabha nine times and served twice in the Rajya Sabha. Vajpayee was the founding president of the BJP in 1980 and served three terms as India’s Prime Minister between 1996 and 2004.
In addition to his role as PM, Vajpayee held key positions as India’s External Affairs Minister, chaired various parliamentary committees, and served as Leader of the Opposition. In recognition of his service to the nation, he was awarded India’s highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, in 2015.
Mir Yaar’s tribute underscores Vajpayee’s cross-border influence and the enduring respect he commands even among political leaders in Pakistan’s Balochistan region.
