World’s First Intelligent Shoe-Cleaning Robot ‘ClearX’ Launched, Cleans Without Soap or Chemicals

CES 2026, Las Vegas: A revolutionary innovation in footwear care was unveiled at CES 2026 as Brolan introduced ClearX, the world’s first intelligent shoe-cleaning robot. This smart device can wash, dry, and sanitize shoes—all in a single machine—without using any soap or chemicals, making it ideal for delicate and high-end footwear.

How ClearX Works

ClearX is equipped with two water tanks—one for clean water and another for used water—and can clean a pair of shoes using just one liter of water. The machine employs micro-bubble technology, where tiny bubbles penetrate shoe materials and burst, effectively cleaning them with only water.

It also features material-sensitive sensors, which detect the type of shoe material and the level of dirt. Based on this, the robot adjusts its cleaning process to ensure shoes are thoroughly cleaned without damage, even delicate leather pairs.

For leather shoes, ClearX uses a gentle roller system instead of direct water jets. After cleaning, shoes are dried using low-temperature airflow, preventing any heat-related damage. Users can also choose to sanitize shoes, though this is optional depending on individual needs.

Key Features

  • Cleans shoes without soap, detergent, or chemicals.
  • Washes, dries, and sanitizes in one automated cycle.
  • Handles all types of materials, including leather and delicate fabrics.
  • Uses minimal water, making it eco-friendly and efficient.
  • Can be connected to a water supply or used as a portable unit.

Availability and Price

ClearX is slated to launch on Kickstarter in May 2026, with an expected price range of $500–$800 (approximately ₹72,000). Brolan aims to make the product more affordable over time.

According to Emily Chen, founder of Brolan, “ClearX represents the world’s first intelligent shoe-cleaning robot that can wash, dry, and optionally sanitize shoes, all while preserving their quality. It is designed to make shoe care effortless and safe for all types of footwear.”
