Warning for Pikashow Users: Free Movie App Poses Security Risks, Legal Trouble

Users of the popular movie streaming app Pikashow have been warned about serious security and legal risks. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, tweeted via its official handle @Cyberdost that the app could lead to data leaks, malware infections, and even legal consequences for its users.

Security and Data at Risk
Millions of users turn to Pikashow for free movie streaming, unaware of the dangers. According to I4C, the app can compromise personal and banking information and expose smartphones to viruses. Users are cautioned not to risk their sensitive data for “free movies.”

Legal Troubles Loom
The official warning also highlighted the potential legal consequences of using pirated content. Accessing unlicensed movies through such apps violates copyright laws and could result in legal action. Users are urged to think carefully before installing the app.

Why Pikashow Is Unsafe
Pikashow hosts pirated content, making it illegal. The app is not available on the Google Play Store, so users must download it from third-party websites, which increases the risk of malware and spyware infiltrating their devices. This makes users’ data—and even banking information—vulnerable to theft.

Official Apps Are Safer
Experts recommend downloading apps only from official sources like the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Doing so ensures better security and reduces the risk of viruses, data leaks, and legal complications. Pirated content apps like Pikashow violate the Copyright Act in India, which is punishable by law.

Bottom Line
While free streaming may be tempting, the risks of malware, data theft, and legal action make Pikashow a hazardous choice. Users are advised to prioritize safety and legality by sticking to official streaming platforms.
