Samsung Set to Launch MagSafe-Like Wireless Charger for Galaxy S26 Series

Following Apple’s footsteps, Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch a Qi2 wireless charger for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Leaked images suggest that the charger will resemble Apple’s MagSafe and support 25W wireless charging. However, using it may require a special case for proper alignment.

What We Know About Samsung’s Qi2 Charger
The wireless charger, likely to launch with Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26, features a circular, slim design similar to Apple’s MagSafe. Unlike Apple’s version, Samsung’s charger comes in black housing with a fabric-wrapped cable. The box branding clearly indicates “Qi2 25W”, confirming support for 25W wireless charging. To achieve this, a 45W or higher PPS adapter is required.

Need for a Special Case
Photos of the charger’s packaging reveal a key detail: it instructs users to use a Qi2-ready case for Galaxy phones. This suggests that while the S26 series may have magnets, the charger might only work properly with a specific case, which could be inconvenient for users who prefer using their phones without additional accessories.

Magnetic Alignment on Galaxy S26
It is still unclear whether the Galaxy S26 phones will have built-in magnets for direct magnetic charging. The current leaks indicate that magnetic alignment may rely on the case, rather than the phone itself, for effective wireless charging.

Apple-Like Convenience for Samsung Users
If confirmed, Samsung users will finally get a feature similar to Apple’s MagSafe, which has been available on iPhones for several years. Exact launch dates and additional features of the Qi2 wireless charger are yet to be announced, but it promises to bring a familiar convenience to the Galaxy ecosystem.
