Realme P4 Lite Launched at ₹9,999, But Lacks 5G Support

New Delhi: Realme has launched its budget smartphone, the Realme P4 Lite 4G, in India with a starting price of ₹9,999. The device will be available for purchase on Realme’s official website and Flipkart, with the first sale starting on 24 February 2026. Early buyers can avail of ₹2,000 discounts through bank offers and coupons, bringing the effective price down to ₹7,999 for the base variant.

The phone comes with a massive 6300mAh battery, supports 6W reverse charging, and features a 6.67-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels and peak brightness of 450 nits. It runs on Android 15 with Realme UI 6.0, powered by a UNISOC T7250 processor, and offers up to 12GB virtual RAM. Storage options include 64GB and 128GB, expandable via microSD card up to 2TB. Photography is handled by a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports 15W fast charging.

However, despite these features, the device has a significant drawback: it lacks 5G connectivity. In the current market, several competing brands, including Lava, Redmi, and Samsung, are offering 5G smartphones at similar price points. According to NBT, while the large battery and attractive launch discounts are appealing, the absence of 5G support may limit the phone’s appeal to customers. Additionally, the camera and processor could have been upgraded to make the device more competitive in this budget segment.
