Ration Card Problems? File Complaints via WhatsApp with Just One Message

Citizens no longer need to run from office to office to resolve ration card issues. The government has launched a digital WhatsApp-based grievance system that allows users to register complaints from the comfort of their homes. Whether it’s adding a name to a ration card, issues with receiving supplies, or complaints against dealers, this service aims to make the process simple, fast, and accessible. The platform supports 12 languages, including Hindi, English, and several regional languages.

How to Lodge a Ration Card Complaint on WhatsApp
If you face any problem related to your ration card—such as difficulty adding or removing a name, receiving ration, incorrect entries, inflated prices, or other issues—you can now send a WhatsApp message to the government instead of visiting offices physically.

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Send a message to WhatsApp number 9868200445, or scan the QR code shared in official communications to start a chat.
  2. Type “Hi” to initiate the conversation.
  3. Select your preferred language from the options provided, including Hindi, English, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, and more.
  4. Enter your ration card number.
  5. Describe the issue or complaint you are facing and follow the prompts to register it.

This service not only saves time but also ensures that complaints reach the relevant authorities directly, helping resolve issues efficiently. Both rural and urban users can benefit, as WhatsApp is widely accessible across the country.

Alternative Option Without Internet
For areas with limited internet access, or for those who do not use WhatsApp, the government also provides an IVRS helpline at 14457. Citizens can call this number to lodge complaints and receive assistance.

This digital initiative ensures that ration card-related grievances are addressed quickly and conveniently, reducing the need for physical visits to government offices and making the process accessible to everyone.
