At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen wearing an impressive pair of AI-powered glasses called ‘Sarvam Kaze’. The wearable device was developed by Indian startup Sarvam AI, signaling India’s growing push to take the lead in the global AI race.
Testing Real-Time AI Responses
Photographs shared by Sarvam AI co-founder Pratyush Kumar show PM Modi testing the glasses on the exhibition floor, interacting with its real-time response features. Similar to other smart glasses, Sarvam Kaze allows users to capture information, receive responses, and interact with the environment in real time.
The AI glasses were displayed alongside Jio’s AI glasses, highlighting the increasing presence of homegrown AI innovations at the summit. By wearing Sarvam Kaze, PM Modi showcased support for indigenous AI products and encouraged the adoption of advanced technology developed in India.
Upcoming Chat Feature
According to CNBC-TV18, Sarvam AI plans to launch a chat feature this week, enabling voice and visual interactions for enhanced real-world intelligence. Users will also have access to custom experiences via the Sarvam platform. The device is entirely designed and manufactured in India, positioning it as a fully homegrown AI product. The company aims to launch it in the Indian market by May 2026.
AI Without Internet – Sarvam Edge
Sarvam AI recently introduced Sarvam Edge, a device that allows AI functionality without requiring an internet connection. Running entirely on the device’s local processing power, Sarvam Edge provides a secure and offline AI experience. This approach ensures accessibility for users with limited internet access or expensive data plans, further extending AI capabilities to remote regions.
With innovations like Sarvam Kaze and Sarvam Edge, Indian startups are taking significant steps to position the country at the forefront of AI technology, promoting both indigenous development and wider accessibility.
