OnePlus is gearing up to launch its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 15s, in India. The device has already appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification platform, signaling an imminent launch. This compact smartphone is expected to bring several major upgrades over its predecessor, the OnePlus 13s.
Key Specifications
According to reports, the OnePlus 15s will feature a 200MP main camera, with the possibility of an additional 50MP telephoto lens. Unlike many modern devices, the phone may not include an ultrawide camera. Powering the device will be a massive 7000mAh battery, promising extended usage.
The smartphone will sport a 6.32-inch flat 1.5K OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth visual experience. It will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making it one of the most powerful compact smartphones available. Reports also suggest that the phone will have a metal frame and IP69 rating, ensuring protection against dust and water.
Trend Towards Compact Smartphones
Compact smartphones are gaining popularity in India, with brands like Google, OnePlus, Vivo, and Apple actively targeting this segment. In recent months, devices such as the iPhone 16E, OnePlus 13s, and Vivo X200FE have been launched in this category. The OnePlus 15s is expected to continue this trend, offering high-end features in a smaller, more manageable form factor.
With its high-resolution camera, massive battery, and premium hardware, the OnePlus 15s could make a significant impact in the Indian smartphone market. The launch is anticipated in the early months of the new year.
