Jensen Huang, CEO of global tech giant NVIDIA, has made a striking prediction: English will become the most powerful programming language of the future, surpassing traditional coding languages like C++ and Python. According to Huang, coders may soon become “outdated,” as future systems will respond directly to natural language commands instead of written code.
AI and the Future of Coding
Huang is set to visit India for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where he will share insights on artificial intelligence and its evolving role. He explained that in the future, people will no longer write code manually. Instead, they will communicate with systems in English, telling them what they need. If the system fails to deliver the correct result, users won’t debug it manually—they will simply instruct the system to adjust the outcome.
“Coders Are Becoming Outdated”
Huang emphasized that anyone who can clearly communicate their requirements to a system is effectively a developer, even if they don’t know programming languages like Python or C++. The ability to refine natural language instructions will become a key skill, positioning English as the primary programming language for human-machine interaction.
Personalized Gadgets and AI Interaction
The trend is already visible in today’s personalized gadgets. AI-enabled devices are increasingly responsive to natural language commands, allowing users to interact in their own style while the AI interprets and executes the instructions. Huang suggests that while English may dominate globally as the primary programming interface, in the future, local languages could also evolve into system programming languages, depending on regional adoption and AI localization.
Looking Ahead
The India AI Impact Summit, taking place from January 16 to 20 in New Delhi, will provide further insights into Huang’s vision for AI, personalized devices, and the future of human-computer interaction. His comments highlight a paradigm shift: communication, not code, will drive the next era of programming.
