Link Your Aadhaar to IRCTC Account for First-Day Train Ticket Booking

From January 12, booking train tickets has become easier for users whose IRCTC accounts are linked with Aadhaar. Under the new rule, Aadhaar-verified users can book general reserved tickets from 8 AM to midnight on the first day of the Advance Reservation Period (ARP). This makes linking your IRCTC account with Aadhaar essential. Fortunately, the process is simple and can be completed online.

How to Link Aadhaar with Your IRCTC Account

To link your IRCTC account with Aadhaar, ensure you have the IRCTC app installed on your phone, along with your Aadhaar card. It is also important that your mobile number is linked with your Aadhaar, as the OTP for verification will be sent to this number.

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to your IRCTC account.
2. Click on Account.
3. Select Authenticate User.
4. Click on AADHAAR CARD/VID.
5. Enter your details as per your Aadhaar card, including Aadhaar number, date of birth, and gender.
6. Tick the confirmation checkbox and request an OTP.
7. Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Once submitted, your IRCTC account will be successfully linked to Aadhaar.

Linking Aadhaar via RailOne App

You can also use the RailOne app to link your IRCTC account with Aadhaar. Ensure the RailOne app is installed and you are logged in, either via a RailOne account or through your IRCTC account.

Steps:

1. Log in to your RailOne account.
2. Navigate to the You section.
3. Click on Link your Aadhaar.
4. Enter your details such as name, date of birth, gender, and Aadhaar number.
5. Accept the terms by ticking the checkbox and click Verify.
6. Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and click Verify. Your Aadhaar will now be linked to your IRCTC account.

Important Points to Note

• You must have an account on either the IRCTC app or RailOne app to link Aadhaar.
• Double-check all information before submission to ensure it matches your Aadhaar card.
