Jio Makes Global Stride, Joins Forces with Google and Microsoft to Form Trusted Tech Alliance

February 14, 2026: In a significant move on the global technology stage, Reliance Jio has become the sole Indian member of the newly formed Trusted Tech Alliance (TTA). Announced at the Munich Security Conference, the alliance brings together 15 leading international tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Ericsson, Nokia, SAP, and NTT, with the aim of creating secure and transparent standards for AI, 5G, cloud infrastructure, and data protection.

Purpose of the Alliance
The Trusted Tech Alliance is designed to establish global norms that ensure technology is trustworthy, safe, and verifiable. By working together, member companies seek to prevent data breaches, strengthen cybersecurity, and promote a transparent digital ecosystem. The alliance is open to expansion, with plans to include more companies in the future.

Jio’s Commitment
Speaking at the launch, Kiran Thomas, CEO of Jio Platforms, emphasized the importance of collaboration in building reliable digital technology. “We are proud to be part of the Trusted Tech Alliance,” he said. “Our goal is to work with global partners to create internet connectivity, cloud systems, and AI solutions that people can trust for years to come.”

Global Collaboration Key to Success
Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, highlighted that in today’s global environment, companies with shared values must unite to establish trust and high standards across borders. Börje Ekholm, CEO of Ericsson, added that no single company or country can build a fully secure digital infrastructure alone, underscoring the need for international cooperation.

Implications for India
Through Jio’s participation, India is positioned to play a more active role in shaping global digital standards. Experts suggest that this could enhance the credibility of India’s cloud, 5G, and AI services on the international stage, while also boosting customer confidence in data security and digital trust.

Five Core Principles of the Alliance
The member companies have agreed on five guiding principles:

  1. Ethical and transparent operations.
  2. Periodic security audits and compliance.
  3. Robust supply networks for products and services.
  4. Collaborative systems enabling seamless integration.
  5. Protection of user data in line with applicable laws.

By adhering to these principles, the Trusted Tech Alliance aims to ensure that technology is developed and used in a safe, reliable, and responsible manner worldwide.
