Modern smartphones offer multiple network modes such as 4G, LTE, 5G On, and 5G Auto. Choosing the right one can significantly impact your internet speed, call stability, and battery life. The best option depends on your usage patterns and the network availability in your area.
Reliable Connectivity: 4G and LTE
For users who primarily stream videos, browse social media, and make regular calls, 4G or LTE is the most reliable choice. These modes are especially recommended for areas where 5G signals are weak or inconsistent.
With stable speeds ranging from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps, 4G/LTE easily handles HD video streaming and social media usage. Moreover, using these modes reduces the load on your phone’s processor and helps conserve battery life.
Superfast Internet: 5G On or 5G Only
If you need blazing-fast internet for heavy downloads, online gaming, or high-quality video calls, you can switch to 5G On or 5G Only. In areas with strong 5G coverage, speeds can reach 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps.
However, this mode has some drawbacks. In locations with weak 5G signals, your phone may switch to “No Service”, causing call drops and rapid battery drain. Additionally, the phone does not automatically switch back to 4G in this mode, so coverage matters.
Balanced Performance: 5G Auto
For users seeking a balance between speed, network stability, and battery life, 5G Auto is the ideal setting. In this mode, your phone automatically switches between 4G and 5G depending on network availability.
By avoiding constant high-frequency signal searches, 5G Auto helps save battery while still providing high-speed internet when available. This makes it perfect for users who want fast connectivity without frequent charging.
