New Delhi, February 13, 2026: India is all set to host the India AI Impact Summit 2026, a landmark event bringing together global leaders in artificial intelligence from February 16 to 20 in New Delhi. The summit has attracted CEOs from some of the world’s biggest tech companies, including Google, OpenAI, and NVIDIA, alongside ministers from over 15 countries, 50 foreign dignitaries, and more than 40 Indian and international CEOs.
Experts say there are three main reasons why India is emerging as a hotspot for AI innovation:
1. Massive, Digitally Connected Population
India’s large population is increasingly internet-savvy and quick to adopt AI technologies. The country generates nearly 20% of global data consumption, making it an attractive market for AI applications.
2. Proven IT Expertise
Much like India established itself as a global IT hub by providing world-class services, the country is now poised to become a key player in AI. International companies see India as a strategic base for AI development and deployment.
3. Rapid AI Advancement
Reports indicate that, after the U.S. and China, India has the highest level of AI-related activity. From research to practical deployment, India is attracting serious attention from global AI stakeholders.
High-Profile Participation and Key Addresses
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the main plenary session on February 19. CEOs attending include Sundar Pichai (Google), Sam Altman (OpenAI), Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), Dario Amodei (Anthropic), Demis Hassabis (DeepMind), Brad Smith (Microsoft), and Cristiano Amon (Qualcomm). The summit’s theme, “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay”—for the welfare and happiness of all—highlights AI’s potential to benefit humanity across sectors like healthcare, agriculture, education, and energy.
Global AI Companies Expand in India
Leading AI firms like OpenAI and Anthropic have started operations in India. Anthropic recently appointed Irina Ghosh, former MD at Microsoft India, to lead its India operations. OpenAI has also posted multiple job openings in the country, while Google has maintained an ongoing presence.
The summit will showcase over 700 session proposals and feature a special AI compendium release on February 17. Additionally, prizes totaling ₹2.5 crore have been announced for innovative AI projects, reflecting India’s growing role as a global AI hub.
