China’s leading home-appliance manufacturer Midea, known globally for its AC and household electronics, has introduced a breakthrough innovation—Miro U, the world’s first humanoid robot equipped with six human-like arms. The company claims these six independently functional arms can perform complex tasks with exceptional precision, making the robot ideal for advanced industrial use.
Advanced Six-Arm Wheel-Leg Design
Miro U features a unique six-arm wheel-leg design, allowing it to move smoothly, lift itself upward, and rotate a full 360 degrees. According to Midea, the robot’s structure is engineered to perform multiple operations simultaneously on the factory floor, significantly boosting productivity.
Vice President Wei Chang stated during the launch that this is Midea’s third-generation humanoid robot, and all six arms function autonomously, completing assigned tasks without human intervention. The company emphasised that the underlying technology has been developed entirely in-house.
Mobility Enhanced With Wheels
Beyond its human-like limbs, the robot is fitted with a wheel-based mobility system, enabling it to travel across different sections of a production facility with ease. This mobility, paired with its multi-arm functionality, positions Miro U as a next-generation solution for modern manufacturing units.
Reduced Production Time and Improved Efficiency
Industry experts believe that the integration of such advanced robots will dramatically reduce production times. Midea plans to deploy Miro U within its own manufacturing plants by the end of this year. The robot is expected to streamline tasks such as assembly-line adjustments, precision handling, and repetitive mechanical operations.
Growing Investments in AI and Robotics
Midea is among several global companies investing aggressively in AI and robotics to transform industrial processes. Alongside the Miro series, the company is also developing its Mila series of commercial and household robots. These are currently undergoing final testing and may be available in retail stores by next year.
As the global robotics race intensifies, multiple international tech giants are preparing to launch their own advanced humanoid systems—positioning robotics as a game-changing force for future industries.
