In a significant move targeting India’s growing tech-savvy population, Apple is set to open its first official store in Uttar Pradesh on December 11. Located in DLF Mall of India, Sector-18, Noida, this store will mark Apple’s second official outlet in North India and the first in the NCR region.
Apple has made extensive preparations for the Noida store, reflecting its strategy to reach out to India’s most populous state. According to the latest data from International Data Corporation (IDC), Apple has emerged as the fourth-largest smartphone brand in India, surpassing Xiaomi (excluding Poco) and Realme.
Why Noida?
The choice of Noida is strategic. The city hosts a diverse workforce from across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. With a significant young population employed in IT and other sectors, Noida provides Apple a prime opportunity to connect with tech-oriented consumers and expand its brand presence in the region.
Apple’s India Success Story
IDC’s data highlights Apple’s growing popularity. In the third quarter of this year alone, Apple sold over 5 million iPhones in India, solidifying its position among the country’s top smartphone players.
Investment and Store Features
Reports indicate that Apple has invested heavily in the Noida store. With a rental rate of ₹263.15 per square foot, the monthly rent totals ₹45.3 lakh, amounting to over ₹5.4 crore annually. Apple has secured the location for 11 years, with the first year rent-free.
The store will feature Apple’s entire product lineup, including the iPhone 17 series, iPhone 16E, MacBooks, iPads, AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple TV Plus, music systems, and accessories. Each product segment is carefully designed to provide customers with a hands-on experience. Shoppers at the Noida store will also enjoy the same offers and discounts available at other Apple stores in India.
With the launch in Noida, Apple is strengthening its footprint in North India and is expected to open more official stores in other key cities soon, signaling its commitment to challenge Chinese smartphone brands and capture a larger share of the Indian market.
