
Chhatarpur, MP: A video showing a young man sitting inside a car with illegal liquor and a country-made pistol has gone viral on social media, prompting immediate action from the police. The accused, identified as Roop Singh Yadav, was arrested from a village under the Kotwali police station area.
Villagers Caught the Accused and Recorded the Video
According to local residents, Roop Singh Yadav had been supplying illegal liquor in several villages for a long time. Villagers claimed that he always carried illegal weapons during his supply runs.
On Wednesday night, a group of villagers caught him red-handed. Upon discovering liquor cartons and a country-made firearm in his possession, they recorded a video and circulated it widely on social media.
Viral Video Triggers Police Intervention
As soon as the video surfaced online, Kotwali police swung into action. A police team reached the spot, took Roop Singh into custody, and seized the illegal liquor along with the pistol.
Accused Sent to Jail Under Multiple Charges
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered under the Arms Act and sections related to illegal liquor possession and distribution. After producing the accused in court, he was sent to judicial custody.
Authorities have also initiated a deeper investigation to uncover the network involved in the illegal liquor trade and identify other individuals associated with the accused.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Illegal Activities
Police officials stated that strict action will continue against illegal activities in the region. The swift response in this case has received appreciation from local residents, who believe such firm action will help curb unlawful practices in rural areas.
