Youth Dies After Climbing Goods Train Engine in Chandauli, Electrocuted by High-Tension Wire

Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident near DDU Junction in Chandauli, a young man lost his life after climbing onto the engine of a goods train and coming into contact with a high-tension wire. The tragic accident left onlookers stunned. The GRP and RPF teams reached the spot and took the body into custody for further investigation.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday when a goods train stopped near DDU Junction. Eyewitnesses stated that a man suddenly appeared and climbed directly onto the train engine. The individual was reportedly wearing multiple layers of clothing.

As he climbed the engine, the man came into contact with a high-tension power line. Sparks flew, and the fire engulfed him instantly. The man was severely burnt and died on the spot, leaving no time for anyone to intervene. The incident caused panic among nearby witnesses for a brief period.

The GRP and RPF were immediately informed and arrived at the scene. The body was brought down from the engine, and the police began preliminary questioning. However, no information regarding the deceased’s identity was available at the time.

RPF Inspector Pradeep Kumar Rawat stated that the deceased could not be identified immediately. He added that, prima facie, the person appeared to be mentally unstable. A detailed investigation is underway.
