New Delhi, February 3:
A young man was brutally beaten to death in Tughlakabad village, Delhi, following a minor dispute on Monday afternoon. The police have registered a case under murder charges, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Authorities have identified the suspects and said arrests are imminent.
The deceased has been identified as Himanshu Kumar Chauhan, also known as Anshu, a resident of Kangad Mohalla in Tughlakabad village. He leaves behind his wife and a one-and-a-half-year-old child. Chauhan had been employed as a housekeeper at an installation in Okhla Phase-1 but had been unemployed for the past three months.
According to DCP Dr. Hemant Tiwari, police received a call around 3:45 PM about a dispute. On reaching the scene, officers found Chauhan’s body lying in blood outside Room No. 268 of a rented house, belonging to one of his friends. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police sources said the deceased had come to meet his friend at the location. Initial investigation suggests two to three youths were involved in the attack. All items found inside the room have been seized for further examination. CCTV footage from the area has been collected to aid the investigation. The friend, who was present during the incident, is currently absconding. The motive behind the dispute will be clearer once the suspects are arrested.
