In a tragic incident in Indira Nagar’s Takrohi area, 23-year-old Tannu Singh reportedly ended her life after a casual remark made by her husband, Rahul Singh, offended her. According to family members, Rahul jokingly referred to Tannu as “monkey” in front of his sister, which deeply hurt her.
Tannu, who had married Rahul in a love marriage and was passionate about modeling, was reportedly very sensitive about her appearance. Following the incident, she went to her room, and despite family members’ efforts to call her for dinner an hour later, she did not respond.
When Rahul entered the room, he found Tannu hanging from a ceiling fan, prompting shock and distress among family members. Police confirmed that no prior complaint or indication of distress had been reported to them.
The family stated that they had returned from a relative’s house in Sitapur earlier that evening, and the atmosphere at home had been cheerful, with laughter and conversation. The sudden turn of events has left the family in profound grief.
The post-mortem was conducted, and the body was handed over to the family. Police officials are investigating the matter, though no external foul play is suspected at this stage.
This incident underscores the mental health challenges and emotional sensitivity among young individuals, highlighting the importance of awareness and support within families.
