Young Man Dies While Playing Cricket in Barabanki, Wedding Scheduled Next Month

Barabanki: A wave of grief swept through a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district after a 24-year-old man collapsed and died suddenly while playing cricket. The tragic incident occurred on Friday in Kaitha village under the Mohammadpur Khala police station area.

The deceased has been identified as Anuj alias Virat Yadav, who was fielding during a local cricket match when he suddenly fell unconscious while picking up the ball. Fellow players and villagers rushed to his aid and immediately took him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Wedding Preparations Turn Into Mourning

Anuj’s sudden death has left his family and the entire village in shock. He was scheduled to get married on February 24, and preparations for the wedding were underway. What was meant to be a time of celebration has now turned into mourning.

Family members said Anuj was living at his maternal home and was in good health. Locals confirmed that he regularly participated in sports activities and showed no signs of illness.

Suspected Heart Attack, Cause Awaited

According to relatives, Anuj began bleeding from the nose and vomited before collapsing. A private doctor, Dr. Vishwanath, stated that the young man was brought to the hospital on a motorcycle, but he had already passed away by the time he arrived. The exact cause of death, he added, can only be confirmed after a post-mortem examination.

Although villagers suspect a sudden heart attack, no official medical confirmation has been made so far.

Village in Shock

The family conducted the last rites late at night amid deep sorrow. The sudden and unexplained death of a young, physically active man has raised concerns and left the community shaken.

Mohammadpur Khala Station House Officer Ashutosh Mishra said the police had not received formal information about the incident.

The tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over the village, with relatives and residents struggling to come to terms with the untimely loss.
