Work Begins on New Hathras City: Three Companies Shortlisted for Master Plan

Hathras, Uttar Pradesh: The development of New Hathras Urban Center near the Yamuna Expressway is moving forward, with initial steps taken to prepare the city’s master plan. The proposed city will be spread over 4,000 hectares, encompassing residential and industrial zones. Three companies have been shortlisted to design the master plan, and the final selection is expected soon.

Strategic Location and Planning
The Yamuna Authority, under Phase-2 development, is spearheading the project. The area’s proximity to the Yamuna Expressway makes it strategically important for commercial and residential growth. A technical bid was issued for the New Hathras Master Plan 2041, and three companies successfully qualified. The selected firm, after the financial bid evaluation, will prepare the detailed master plan, paving the way for further development.

Shortlisted Companies
The three companies that presented their proposals before the committee chaired by CEO R.K. Singh are:

• RV Engineering Consultants Ltd.
• Garuna USB Soft Solution Pvt. Ltd.
• LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd.

All three have qualified for the next stage, and the financial bid will determine the final selection for master plan development.

Development Across 358 Villages
The project area includes 358 villages in Hathras district. The new city will leverage Hathras’s strong connectivity, including NH-93, SH-33, and rail networks, as well as its proximity to Aligarh and Agra. The plan aims to transform Hathras into a modern commercial and industrial hub, enhancing infrastructure and economic opportunities.

Next Steps
Once the master plan is finalized, development will commence initially near the Yamuna Expressway, marking a historic step in upgrading Hathras from its British-era industrial and trading legacy to a modern urban center.

Shailendra Bhatia, ACEO of YEA, stated that after the financial bid, one company will be chosen to complete the master plan, which will guide the systematic development of the new city.
