Agra: In a shocking discovery, a woman’s body was found wrapped in a blanket near Milestone 148 on the Yamuna Expressway on Friday. The 25-year-old woman, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, had henna on her hands and feet, indicating she was married. Her lips were adorned with lipstick, and her eyes lined with kajal. Authorities suspect she was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped at the site. The blanket was bound with black tape.
Discovery of the Body
Around 3:30 PM, villagers near Saurai noticed a blanket while grazing goats. Upon closer inspection, a foul smell emanated from it. They immediately alerted patrolling guards and police. DCP West Aditya Singh and ACP Etmadpur Devesh Kumar arrived at the scene, and upon removing the blanket, discovered the woman’s body. Forensic teams and a dog squad were deployed. The letters “S R” were found written on her hand and shoulder.
Evidence of a Struggle
DCP West Aditya Singh stated that the woman was likely lured under false pretenses and was unaware that her life was in danger. The assailant appears to have strangled her, and defensive injuries were noted on her neck, indicating she tried to resist. One of her hands had the name “Sunny” written on it, which seemed to have been partially erased.
Profile of the Victim
The woman, dressed in a salwar suit, appeared to belong to an affluent family. She wore a ring on her finger. Police are examining missing persons reports from nearby areas and reviewing CCTV footage to trace her movements.
Investigative Leads
The body was found approximately one kilometer from Delhi Road, with the Mathura border just two kilometers ahead. Police suspect the perpetrator may have either come from Agra, crossed the Khandoli toll, dumped the body, and fled, or entered from Delhi via a small vehicle bypass near the toll. CCTV footage from the toll is under review, and authorities are also searching for a person named Sunny who may be linked to the case. DCP Singh confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and the case is expected to be solved soon.
