Woman Found Dead Inside Car in Delhi; Live-In Partner Arrested for Murder

28 Nov 2025, New Delhi

A woman was found strangled to death inside a car in Delhi’s Dwarka district on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested her live-in partner, identified as Virender Singh, for the crime. The incident took place in Deenpur Colony under Chhawla police station.

According to investigators, the victim had been living with Virender Singh for several months. The two reportedly met while commuting in the same bus, where Virender worked as the driver. Their relationship developed over time, and the woman eventually moved in with him after selling her house in Raj Nagar.

Body Found on Back Seat of a Car

Dwarka DCP Ankit Singh said that police received a PCR call around 9:15 am about a body lying inside a Haryana-registered car parked in the Deenpur Extension area. When the police team reached the spot, they found the woman’s body on the back seat.

Local residents informed police that the couple often fought, including on the night before the murder.

Accused Confessed to Strangling Victim

During questioning, 35-year-old Virender Singh confessed to strangling the woman during a heated argument. He told police that he placed the body in the car with the intention of disposing of it but could not drive due to heavy intoxication. He then left the body on the car’s back seat and went inside the house.

Police also found injury marks on the woman’s face. Crime and FSL teams inspected the spot. After post-mortem at Rao Tula Ram Hospital in Jaffarpur Kalan, the body was handed over to her family, who performed last rites on Thursday evening.

Flat Purchased in Accused’s Name; ₹21 Lakh Recovered

Investigations revealed that the woman had recently sold her Raj Nagar Palam house and bought a flat in Deenpur in the name of Virender Singh. Frequent arguments—often triggered by Virender’s drinking habits—allegedly led to the fatal altercation.

Police have also recovered ₹21 lakh from the accused’s residence. Virender Singh has been taken into custody on charges of murder.
