Gorakhpur: In a shocking case from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, a woman has approached the local police, accusing her doctor husband of avoiding marital intimacy since their wedding 18 months ago. According to the complaint, the couple was married on 25 April 2024, with the bride’s family giving a dowry of ₹15 lakh in cash and other household items.
The woman alleges that her husband has consistently avoided sharing the same room, always making excuses. She later discovered that he is physically incapable of having marital relations. Upon raising the issue with his family, she was allegedly subjected to physical abuse and thrown out of the house.
Incident Details
The woman, a resident of the Gola police station area, filed the complaint along with her brother. She stated that on the wedding night, her husband did not come to her, citing an urgent case he had to attend. This pattern continued, with the woman later discovering medications in her husband’s bag, revealing his physical incapacity.
When confronted, the husband reportedly said that the medication would resolve the issue. However, after 18 months, no improvement occurred. Upon informing her parents, she claims her in-laws subjected her to physical assault and dowry-related harassment. On 15 November, the woman alleges she was beaten by her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law, and forced out of the house. Since then, she has been staying at her parental home.
Police Response
Gola Station In-Charge Rahul Shukla confirmed that the matter is under investigation. A case has been registered based on the woman’s complaint, and legal action will be taken against the guilty parties once the inquiry is complete.
