
Bokaro, Jharkhand: Wild elephants continue to terrorize the Bokaro district as a horrifying incident occurred near Kander village in the Gomiah police station area. A herd of elephants stopped a moving car, dragged the occupant out, and brutally crushed him in a nearby field.
The deceased has been identified as Ravindra, a vegetable vendor by profession. According to reports, Ravindra was returning to his village, Kander, in his Omni car after selling vegetables in Ramgarh. As he reached Simrabeda Mahto Tola, the herd of wild elephants surrounded his vehicle.
Eyewitnesses and police officials stated that the elephants pulled Ravindra out of his car and mercilessly trampled him in the adjoining fields, killing him instantly. Local residents revealed that some villagers had warned him about the presence of wild elephants in the area and advised him not to proceed, but he did not heed the warning in his hurry to reach home.
Public Anger Directed at Forest Department
The incident has left villagers and passersby in deep shock. Locals have expressed strong anger against the Forest Department, alleging that the rising threat of wild elephants in the district has not been met with adequate preventive measures or safety arrangements.
The tragic event highlights the urgent need for increased vigilance and proactive steps by authorities to prevent human-wildlife conflicts in the region.
